The last two days have been amazing. Helen has been here and we have been consumed with running to the hospital to check on Ethan and playing with Helen. Ethan has done very good eating from a bottle today, he took 35cc's per feeding and he is not having any residuals (that means he is digesting all that he consumes). God blessed us with a beautiful afternoon to take Helen to the zoo. She had a blast and it is great to see her here and having fun. We are torn between wanting to be home with her and needing to stay close to Ethan. We are lucky that we have such loving family and friends that help look after Helen in Dothan. God has healed our son and we give Him all the glory. He has protected our daughter and we give Him all the glory. He has given my wife and I strength when we didn't think that we could go anymore and we give Him all the glory. Please pray that Ethan continues to progress on his breathing and eating. Pray also for the rest of our family as they work very hard to care for Helen. We love you all!

  1. I'm so glad to hear how well Ethan is doing and that Helen is there! I'm still so amazed at how many prayers (big and small) have been answered the past two weeks. My faith has grown as I've been able to pray and watch God's hand move. I love you all and will continue to pray for you daily! Tell Helen that Olivia says hello and wants to play next week!!

  4. In case of rain and you want something fun to do with Helen, The McWane Center is a lot of fun. It is pretty close to the hospital too. We are continuing to lift your family up in prayer and praising God for all that he has done.

  5. I am so thrilled all is going so well. I have looked at the blog several times today and was sure all was well. Even thought maybe you had gone home! WOw what a miracle coming soon! Glad that Helen was able to have quality time with her parents. She needs you as well as Ethan, there are several people that can meet his needs but for Helen she knows when she has attention from you! I will continue to pray for wisdom for you both! Love you STBroadaway

  6. We are so glad Ethan is getting the hang of eating and the "breathe, suck, swallow" trick! Y'all will be home with him before you know it. And when he and Helen are finally under the same roof, you'll still be calling grandmas and grandpas to help because you'll think you're living in the zoo!! :0)

    Love,

  10. What a GREAT GOD WE SERVE...It brings back so many memories of our time spent in the NICU with our son Brody. He weighed 1lb 8oz and was born at 25.4 weeks. We spent 4 1/2 months in Birmingham. We know first hand and so do you, the power of Prayer. We are lifing you and your family up in prayer everyday and know that this Storm in your life will pass and you will be so close to God like our family is today. We are proud to say our Son Brody weighs 30 pounds now and is doing Great. I have faith your son will keep doing as well as he is and will be home soon to start your new family.

    Love in Christ,

  14. I learned of Ethan's condition through the Footprints ministry. My son, Zack was born April 6 and developed PPHN. We have been so humbled and amazed at God's ability to heal and His grace. Zack just had his first healthy baby visit, and the pediatrician said he is a perfectly healthy baby boy. Just wanted you to know, with God in the picture, what you have to look forward to in a few months!!

  15. I am so happy to hear that all is going so well for you and your family! I have been trying to keep my Aunt Mary Anne Hall informed about you all, but she told me today that she called you and talked to you! She said that you guys are staying where we stayed! Isn't it wonderful?? Well I wanted to introduce myself to you!!

  17. CONSIDER THE BIRDS..."All you birds of the air, bless the LORD; praise & exalt HIM above all forever."(Daniel 3:80) As they flit, soar, swoop, birds are marvelous creatures.Songs & chattering, alive w/unique sounds & colors.Birds can reveal GOD--they do to me.Difficult times for me? Well, birds can refresh me.I can be moved.Life's possibilities are shown in these & other wondrous creations of GOD.Sheer grace & GOD's blessings are revealed in divine birth of babes as well:For your new sacred creation,Ethan, much has been presented, prayed for, answered,& we BLESS THE LORD.Perhaps such small creatures, the birds, might speak to you of GOD's abiding love as well;they are counted by GOD, but not as highly as the revered, mysterious reward you received in sweet Ethan. So much revealed to you two--through your spiritual journey--has spilled over as largesse many as we join you in JOY & THANKSGIVING.Prayers continue for the other little patients, as we'll forever pray for your newly reunited family.
